Michael Bisping is the first British mixed martial arts-fighter to have a massive breakthrough in the world’s biggest MMA promotion company. He is born in 1979 in Cyprus but moved to East Yorkshire, England as a child. Michael Bisping started his fighting career with the traditional Japanese martial art Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 8. But quickly began practicing mixed martial arts. But all though he was doing well as a mixed martial artist, he quitted when he was 18 to pursue “the real life”. This did not last long, as he began fighting again less than year later.
Michael Bisping entered the UFC in 2006 after winning the TV-series The Ultimate Fighter. After that he has had a record of eleven wins and just three losses. Bisping is today one of the most significant fighters in the UFC and a very important promoter for MMA in Britain.
